Top Ten Christian Schools on Forbes' List of "America's Top Colleges 2019"
Forbes recently released it list of America's Top Colleges for 2019.
The methodology used by Forbes to create this list is probably more interesting to prospective students as it focuses more on student outcomes, like graduation rates and alumni salaries, than input factors used by other publications, such as admissions selectivity and ACT scores. While the Forbes' list has its flaws, one can scan down it to identify where the member institutions of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) rank. See my recent post about the significance of the CCCU and why some prospective students may want to start with this organization when searching for a Christian college to attend.
Here are the 2019 Forbes' Rankings of the top ten CCCU Member Institutions with their overall national rank in parentheses:
Wheaton College (122)
Taylor University (225)
Westmont College (236)
Cedarville University (237)
Point Loma Nazarene University (263)
Calvin University (266)
College of the Ozarks (270)
Messiah College (291)
Biola University (293)
Dordt College (324)
(It is important to note that Christian Postsecondary is not suggesting that the Forbes' ranking or the CCCU member list should determine your choice of school to attend. This is merely one way to look at how Christian schools can be compared. Rankings should only play a small part in your decision making process. And you may decide that other published rankings are more important to you. There are plenty to choose from, such as the rankings by US News and World Report, Princeton Review, and the Wall Street Journal/Times.)
